"The Sound of Hollyhocks" by Hugh Garner
Oct.29th
I feel really sad after reading the "The Sound of Hollyhocks", followed by the death of a 25-year-old handsome man named Rock. However, his death is not just the unexpected accident but the relatively rational outcome. Rock used to be a excellent student and banker. However, through a series of dramatic disastrous changes in his life, he becomes a incurable psycho neurotic and finally dies. Looking over his experiences, he life seems obviously be arranged entirely by his mother. In my opinion, it is the key point that causes his death because he never consider what his future will be like and still feels bewildered of what he should do. The description of the story is really vivid that shows Rock's confused state of mind. I hope everyone could release themselves frequently even if they face trouble occasionally.
